I feel very privileged to have had Poco’s story shared with me by Jacinta, who is still dealing with the huge loss of her precious boy.
It is a very sad story, but also a very beautiful story.
Jacinta adored Poco and his loss has affected her deeply. These are Jacinta's words:
"Inca Poco Bars (Poco) was the most kindest beautiful soul and such a big horse with a personality to match and we really miss him.
Poco suffered for over 10 years with habronemas and his quality of life was sadly declining. The habronemas were flaring again on his front legs and he would try to get relief from chewing the affected areas. I saw the Canterpants on a horse named Henry and thought they would be perfect so ended up buying the front set, but I really wish I had bought them sooner as they actually covered his front legs and chest area entirely and gave him such great relief. Unfortunately his penis and belly were also affected and another summer of the vets debriding them was not a happy life.
I was so happy to be able to gift the Canterpants to a lovely horse named Laila whose enemy is also flies. She has skin problems on her front legs and shoulder areas and the pants have completely resolved this. To see the relief in her is amazing and her quality of life and skin has improved immensely."
Jacinta has shared this video of Poco (click on the photo to play the video).
