Finding Your Perfect Fit

Sizes are a guide only.

Canterpants come in three sizes and each component (Front Pants, Hind Pants and Belly Band) can be sized independently, so you can mix and match to get the perfect fit for your horse.

  • XSmall - approx 9hh - 11hh
  • Small - approx 11hh - 13hh
  • Medium - approx 13hh - 15hh
  • Large - approx 15hh - 17hh
  • XLarge - approx 17hh - 19hh

Front Pants

  • Measurement A includes 8cm Chest Buckle length.
  • Measure your horse standing on an even surface, with the rug on.
  • If your rug doesn't have a standard chest strap you will need to sew one into your rug, or a chest bib.
  • Straps on the Canterpants can be adjusted approximately 10cm in length.
  • Measurements are taken from the marked point to the ground, to allow for blousing at the fetlock.
  • If your horse is a stocky breed or sits between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.

Hind Pants

Belly Band

  • Measure your horse with the rug off for the Belly Band.
  • Measurement B is a half measure. The distance between the Belly Band D-rings is obtained by doubling this measurement.
  • Girth can be measured from centre back (behind wither) to middle of centreline of belly and doubled (equivalent of full circumference)
  • Belly Band is not tight - measure accordingly
