Easy care Canterpants

Caring for Canterpants

Canterpants are built to work hard. But like all quality equestrian gear, a little regular care goes a long way. Sweat, dirt and environmental contaminants are abrasive to fabric over time, and can accelerate wear on stitching, closures and material. A simple washing routine keeps your Canterpants performing at their best, protects your investment, and ensures your horse stays comfortable and well-protected.

With regular wear, we recommend washing at least weekly.

Washing Canterpants

Use a Wash Bag

Ideally, place your Canterpants® in a wash bag before loading. This protects clips, fastenings and hardware during the wash cycle.

Gentle Machine or Hand Wash

Machine or hand wash in cool water using a mild detergent. Avoid brighteners, fabric softeners and bleaches - these degrade fabric performance over time.

Line Dry - Do NOT Tumble Dry

Canterpants are best dried hanging on a line out of direct sunlight. To avoid sun bleaching, consider turning pants inside out to dry.

Stain Removal

For removal of stubborn stains, consider soaking first with a mild detergent or just water, prior to washing. Do NOT use bleach or stain remover products.

Before You Wash

Secure ALL Closures BEFORE washing

Fasten touch tape an zippers on Pants and secure side release buckles of Belly Band and Chest Buckle. This protects the closures and your machine.

No Ironing Required

We do not recommend ironing - however if you want them looking their absolute best, use a cool iron.

Avoid ironing over zipper and webbing attachments

Storing Canterpants

When not in use we recommend clipping the Chest Buckle around the elastic of the Belly Band, to avoid losing it. Loosely fold or roll Canterpants in pairs.

Store in a secure location away from pests.

A Final Word

After washing Canterpants may shrink slightly. This will ease with wearing.

Please check the fit of Canterpants on your horse regularly, as washing and wearing all impact the fit.
